Daniel Feliciano and Dean Jones of Give Me Sport has reported that Tottenham Hostpur have kept tabs on the French striker, Randal Kolo Muani. The French forward is currently playing at Paris Saint-Germain. They want to sign the Frenchman in the winter transfer window but also face competition from Manchester United.
Kolo Muani had a sensational tenure with Eintracht Frankfurt. As such, PSG were so desperate to sign him in the summer transfer window of 2023. They fought for his signature and were finally able to land him. However, his performance has gone down since joining the French capital club.
The Frenchman had struggled to perform well at PSG. This season, he has been sidelined by Luis Enrique and remains down the pecking order. He has provided just two goals and one assist in this season so far. The Frenchman is not happy with his situation at the Parisian club and wants to find a new destination where he can play week in and week out.
Despite his limited game time and underwhelming performances, many clubs still want to land Kolo Muani. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs are two of them, and they are fighting hard to secure the signing of the PSG striker. The French forward won’t deny the move given that he will be able to play more often and also in the reputed clubs of the Premier League.
Why do Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur want Randal Kolo Muani?
Manchester United want to sign a new attacker as the future of Marcus Rashford is unclear. Rashford has been out of the squad and might leave the club soon. Joshua Zirkzee‘s future isn’t clear as well, and Kolo Muani has become a viable target for the club to reinforce the attack.
Coming to Tottenham, Richarlison has struggled to perform under Ange Postecoglu. Hence, the Spurs are in desperate need of a striker and have looked up to Kolo Muani. The striker is a big option for Spurs, and they are going to do all that they can to sign him in the ongoing transfer window.
Kolo Muani excels on the field with his breathtaking pace and finishing ability. He is physical and can hold off defenders with ease. The Frenchman can play anywhere across the frontline. His knack for scoring and assisting makes him a perfect option for Tottenham and Manchester United.
The report has also stated that Spurs are set to secure and finalise the deal by the end of this month. They are working on the structure of the deal with PSG, which will include a loan move till the end of the season before signing him permanently in the summer transfer window.
