Tottenham registered a comfortable victory over Austrian opponents Wolfsberger and progressed into the Round of 16 with a 8-1 aggregate. Impressive performances from Dele Alli , Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius helped Tottenham score 4 goals in London.

Dele Alli was at his creative best as he set up 2 of the Tottenham goals while himself scoring from world-class bicycle kick. Gareth Bale also seems to have reinvented his old form at Tottenham and continued his resurgence with a beautiful goal.

Dele Alli gave Tottenham the lead in the 10th minute from the overhead kick and provided a delicious cross for Vinicius in the second half to give Tottenham the control in the match. Mourinho sent Bale on in the 2nd half and the Welsh forward scored the 3rd goal of the match from a Dele Alli pass.

Vinicius scored his second of the game on 83 minutes with an instinctive finish after 16-year-old substitute Dane Scarlett had won possession for Tottenham high up the pitch. 

Jose Mourinho praised Dele Alli’s man-of-the-match performance and credited the player for making the most of his chances.

“Dele had a difficult period, he had an injury, at the same time was the talk about him staying or leaving, the market closed, the injury’s gone and he starts working with lots of motivation,” Mourinho said of Alli’s virtuoso display.

“It’s coming and that’s what we need. He is playing very well. Of course, the goal was beautiful but the assists and the hard work means more for me.”
