Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario discloses playing 60 minutes with fractured ankle in Manchester City match

Tottenham hammered Manchester City at the Etihad stadium by a margin of 4-0, courtesy of two goals from James Maddison. City lost five on the trot in all competitions and it was also City’s third consecutive loss in the Premier League. Although Spurs enjoyed their win, their goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario suffered an injury as he was seen limping while leaving the stadium after the game.
Tottenham made an official announcement on Monday that their shot-stopper, Guglielmo Vicario had undergone a surgery on his right-ankle. Then, the player himself revealed that he played 60 minutes with a broken bone and also made five saves with that. He had managed to play with intense pain.
With this win, Tottenham have 19 points in 12 games in the Premier League and are sixth in the points table. They have won six games, drawn one and lost five matches. They are set to face off agaisnt Roma next in the Europa League and will square off against Fulham in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou expressed happiness after his side beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side have always been a daunting opposition especially at their home ground. Postecoglou said that every team faces challenges coming to the Etihad and playing against Manchester City. He stated that his side needed to be disciplined and play good football against Guardiola’s side and they managed to do that on the given day.
Postecoglou said that his team has played better than last season but just needed to be consistent. They suffered a 2-1 defeat against Ipswich ahead of the international break and slipped to the 10th position in the points table. However, they have beaten Manchester United at the Old Trafford and Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium comprehensively – a testament to their inconsistency.
