As always, Tottenham Hotspur have made a joke of themselves in the business end of the Premier League season. While Spurs have historically struggled to secure silverware, Ange Postecoglou‘s side have suffered back-to-back defeats forcing fans to have ‘uncomfortable’ conversations about their spot in the Premier League’s ‘big six’.
Despite a few impressive displays at the start of the season, Spurs have now dropped back to their regular selves with embarrassing defeats against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Chelsea. Their most recent game against rivals Liverpool proved to be the final straw for many, as fans called for them to be officially removed from the category of a ‘big’ Premier League club.

Spurs were pushed back early on against Liverpool, when Mohamed Salah fired his side in front though a header. Left unmarked, the Egyptian did well to beat Guglielmo Vicario from close range.
What followed was a defensive disaster from the visitors as Liverpool put four past Vicario. Two goals in the second half were not enough to avoid embarrassment at Anfield.
Fans react to Tottenham Hotspur’s fourth consecutive loss in the Premier League
Fans could only laugh at Tottenham Hotspur as they recalled their post-match celebrations at the start of the season. A supporter said that Spurs will become the first team to win 8 of their first 10 games and still not finish in the top four. A hilarious comment read that Spurs were in the mood for a free points giveaway at this point of the season.

With 60 points in 35 games and 7 points behind the club in front, it is unlikely that Tottenham will grab a Champions League spot this year. Seeing this, a fan opined that at this rate, Spurs will get relegated next year. Many mocked Postecoglou’s comments in the past and spammed his ‘mate’ reaction. The general consensus among fans was that Spurs were the most useless club in the second half of the season.
Other claims like Tottenham will be the big that decides who will win the League were also mocked. Within a week, the North Londoners have lost both to Liverpool and Arsenal, conceding three or more on both occasions.
They take on Burnley, Manchester City and Sheffield United in their last three League matches. The game against City is by the most important in terms of the Premier League title this season.
