Sky Sports has reported that Tottenham want to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi before the winter transfer window ends. They were facing competition from Chelsea and Newcastle United for his signature. However, the Spurs placed a bid of £70 million for the defender, which was rejected by Crystal Palace.
Guehi has been an integral part of the Eagles’ lineup since signing for the club in the summer of 2021. He is also the captain of the team and has been one of the best-performing defenders in the Premier League. His strengths include exceptional defensive prowess, calm ball-handling, and remarkable speed. Despite his youth, he’s shown maturity beyond his years, though he has room for improvement in aerial duels.
Marc Guehi has conceded 29 goals and kept seven clean sheets in 23 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. That means when he is on the pitch, his team concedes a goal every 71 minutes. Moreover, he’s made 1.57 tackles and 0.76 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. Guehi is also racking up about 4.67 clearances at the same time.
The defender has appeared in 23 matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 2070 minutes. The future of Axel Disasi at Chelsea is unclear, and Tottenham wanted to sign the defender before the transfer window ended. However, the Spurs have already failed in their interest.
Now, the Spurs are looking to sign a young centre-back who can be good for them for a long time. The 24-year-old Crystal Palace man is being seen as one of the best for that spot. However, their £70 million bid has been rejected by the Eagles.

All the recent reports have revealed that Disasi was likely to leave Chelsea before the winter transfer window ended. Tottenham were one of the clubs who were interested in the Chelsea man. However, Sky Sports have now revealed that the Spurs have cooled their interest in Disasi and won’t be signing him.
He has appeared in six matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 365 minutes. Hence, the player is in need of more game time and wants to leave Stamford Bridge. Disasi has conceded three goals and kept three clean sheets in 6 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. Moreover, he’s made 1.73 tackles and 0.49 interceptions for every 90 minutes.
