Trading away Luka Doncic ‘stabbed’ Mavs fans in the back, says ousted season ticket holder
Dallas Mavericks are kicking out enraged fans protesting during games after the shock trade of superstar Luka Doncic.
Luka Doncic trade has left Dallas Mavericks fans enraged
Had anyone told Dallas Mavericks fans a couple of weeks ago that in February 2025 they would lose Luka Doncic to another team, they would have thought the person telling them needed help. That explains their shock once news of the trade broke on Saturday, February 2nd.
However, that reality is not something they were willing to accept even now. They laid a coffin outside American Airlines Center to inform those responsible for their pain to know what they are going through. Those sign boards and graffiti might have been cleaned off, but their protests haven’t stopped.
The Dallas Mavericks had to hire security after GM Nico Harrison received death threats. Then those fans booed majority owner Patrick Dumont after he doubled down on why they sent the Slovenian superstar away.
Some of those fans at that last Mavericks game even showed their angst inside the arena. They were escorted out as it became apparent that the top brass was shutting down any such developing protests. One of those ousted fans said while speaking with NBC 5.
“Do you know what would ruin a game for a kid?”

That was Chris Taylor, a Mavs season ticket holder. Security escorted him out after he shouted out ‘Fire Nico’ during their overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings. Taylor believes he or any of the ousted fans have not broken any rules, as the franchise claims they do.
Mavs mishandling angry fans after Luka Doncic trade could make it worse
Media houses have assigned reporters exclusively to gather details about the situation developing with the Dallas Mavericks. Long-time team reporter for ESPN, Tim MacMahon, has an in-depth view on how things have going south while speaking on NBA Today.
The ESPN reporter believes the Mavericks top brass are not doing right by forcing their will onto fans. Such acts will only add fuel to the fire when it comes to enraged fans. The likes of Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson understand that fans are enraged, but they also have to move on.

However, the top brass does not seem to get the message. In addition to losing Luka Doncic, now with injuries piling, the team could lose out on a playoff spot. Enraging season ticket holders is not the best way to prove their point. Rather, they should avoid any such stances until the situation cools down.
