In a game that was originally meant for people with extreme height, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young was always at a disadvantage. However, he navigated the barriers of the limitations imposed on him by mother-nature to become the stand-out guard.

However, in a recent interview on “Million Dollaz Worth of Game,” Trae Young shared his thoughts on how he feels about not being so tall and what could have been, had it been in his favor. He asserted that he could have been in the conversation of the game’s GOATs if he were tall enough.

I used to hate when I used to see guys that are tall and that's all. They just out there tall, and that’s all. If I was 6'8", I feel like I would be the best player ever to play this game. Just because of my mentality, the way I play, and the smartness I have about this game, I feel like I can bring a lot to the game.

The debate about the advantage of being tall has been on for ages. However, players like Steph Curry and Chris Paul, who were once roasted by fans on social media, have been able to break the barrier. For Young, he quotes his mentality as the reason he has been able to stand out in a sport meant for giants.

Furthermore, since being drafted fifth overall in the 2018 draft, he counts himself as a three-time All-Star and a consistent 20-point scorer. His career has seen him average 25.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game.

It wasn’t surprising that Young included himself in the list as he has an impressive shooting record to back his claim. He has credited Steph Curry, who revolutionized the game, as an influence in the way he modeled his style of play.

With his height disadvantage, he had to improvise and fine-tune his game which made him one of the deadliest sharp-shooters in the league. As the new season rolls in, fans will eagerly be anticipating to see how much he can contribute to the Atlanta Hawks.
