When it comes to some of the noisiest fan bases in the league, the one supporting the New York Knicks currently holds that mantle. Several players, teams, and former greats do not like them. Then there are some, such as Reggie Miller and Trae Young, who have inflicted pain upon those fans time and again.

Miller is, of course, known for his famous ‘choke’ game. Fans still hold him for that and never leave a chance to give it back to him. But the Indiana Pacers legend still believes it is because he has had the one-up over Knicks fans during his time.

Trae Young can say the same after silencing Knicks fans inside Madison Square Garden on several occasions. He particularly comes up big whenever his Atlanta Hawks take on the New York Knicks, and likes to rub it in with a gesture or a tweet.

He might not be playing now after his team crashed out of the play-in tournament. But he saw how the Oklahoma City Thunder, buoyed by their home fans, blew the Denver Nuggets out. That gave him the idea to take a shot at Knicks fans.

Hot take but not.. OKC fans are louder than Knick fans. Happy Sunday!

Trae Young wrote

He wrote this as he also saw what most of the basketball world noticed. Thunder fans wore their team’s t-shirts and were loud throughout the pivotal Game 7 win. Their cheers pushed the team to bring out a defensive masterclass and finish the job they were expected to do all season long. That led Young to write that believing the fans had a role to play in that win.

Knicks fans tear into Trae Young for troll comment

Basketball fans knew the moment Trae Young‘s tweet went online that he was trolling the New York Knicks fans. But the latter did not take it lightly. They knew the Hawks’ star is one of the few who has the right to take shots at them. Maybe that is why the reactions to this post were equally fiery.

Knicks fans lit up his X with comments, taking shots at the four-time All-Star. They were either trolling him for his infamous playoff exit. Or they were reminding him that he is nowhere near what the New York Knicks have achieved. Check out examples of those comments below.

By infuriating the New York Knicks fanbase, Trae Young brought the attention of the basketball world to his social media accounts. The tweet has since been viewed nearly 6 million times, quite the achievement considering how passionate Knicks fans are.

New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers Conference Finals will also be a battle of their respective fans

There is no questioning the passion of New York Knicks fans. Videos of them taking to the streets and causing traffic jams after their second-round win are still being watched. Anyone who watches those videos will know what such wins mean for them.

This seemingly proves New York native and ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith‘s opinion that those in the Big Apple are feverishly passionate about their Knicks more than any other major sports franchise in the city. Their passion is not the same, even though the New York Liberty brought a championship back to the city last season.

Indiana Pacers fans might not be those who clog the streets. Rather, their passion is evident from how they pack Gainbridge Fieldhouse whenever it is playoff time. Earlier, it was believed that they only cheer for Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever.

But during the two playoff rounds this season, those passionate fans have proved they are there for either of their basketball teams. That also means that Knicks fans cannot invade Gainbridge Fieldhouse like they do at other venues.

At the end, it seems this will be a battle of the fans, too. Bragging rights are there to be won, and both sides know a win is the only way they can prove they are the better fans, and that have the right to troll the opposite side. The NBA has not seen this come through its ranks for a long time.
