At present, Travis Hunter is known to be the best wide receiver in college football who’s about to make his debut in the NFL. He is already anticipated to be the first-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, his college career has not been without its share of controversies, particularly due to his connection with the Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders

During his recent appearance on Outta Pocket with RGIII, hosted by Robert Griffin III, the standout wide receiver opened up about the impact of the immense criticism from former NFL players-turned-analysts. While Hunter admitted being immature, he emphazised that college football players are still “kids” at the end of the day.

I always try to have a conversation about it, ’cause I don’t want no drama. I’m just a goofy guy who wants to play football and have fun with everybody I play with. I know a lot of stuff hurts us. We still kids at the end of the day. I’m nothing but 21. Shedeur is 22, so it still hurts us. We have never been in this position before.

New England Patriots favorites to draft Travis Hunter

Since the Colorado star wideout is predicted to be the first overall pick next year, the NFL teams are already queuing up for him. Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler reported that the New England Patriots are favorites to draft Hunter. Given, that they already have the third overall pick quarterback Drake Maye, they are now expected the acquire weapons for him.

Health is the only thing that will hamper Hunter from potentially winning the Heisman Trophy and going No. 1 overall come springtime.

This season, Hunter has posted 60 receptions for 757 yards along with eight touchdowns while leading the Buffaloes to qualify for the Bowl among the Big 12 contenders. Since being a dual-threat player, Hunter has also given a standout defensive performance with 20 total tackles, including 13 solo tackles in the last eight games of this season.
