Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, where he’s projected to be one of the top five picks, Travis Hunter made a careless mistake that could have cost him his career. As in over excitement, a joyous occasion almost turned into a nightmare for the fans as they watched the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star narrowly avoid a serious injury.

While awaiting the 2025 draft, Hunter traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii to support his teammates competing in the Polynesian Bowl. His presence marked a significant boost for Oregon Ducks receiver signee Dakorien Moore, who executed a stunning 75-yard touchdown one-handed catch in the fourth quarter.

As the Ducks took the lead, Hunter rushed to celebrate with Moore, but as he leaped to connect with the receiver, he lost his footing in the end zone, causing an awkward slip. His sudden fall caused Moore to be thrown into the air, resulting in both of them hitting the ground hard.

The clip of this disastrous moment went viral on the internet, where fans observed the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner’s leg bent in an alarming position upon landing. For a tense moment, it appeared Hunter may have sustained a serious injury that could jeopardize his promising future in professional football.

Ducks’ Moore was also fortunate enough not to sustain any injury, especially given the height he fell from. Hunter quickly got up as Moore’s teammates gathered around them to help them get up and ensure they hadn’t sustained a serious injury requiring immediate medical attention.

Jalen Collins critiques Titans’ speculated draft move for Travis Hunter

Lately, there have been speculations that the Tenessee Titans, holding the first overall pick in the 2025 draft, could use it to draft the young college superstar Hunter. However, the speculations were dismissed by former NFL star Jalen Collins, who reflected how Hunter’s addition to the Titans wouldn’t change the team’s fate as they wanted.

I mean they do trade that feel like they do need a quarterback but at the same time like you need more than that. They probably don’t need a lot more than that, but they do need some more help and I don’t feel like just Trav alone, I don’t know if that’s enough.

Jalen Collins said on Raw Rom podcast

Having Hunter on the team would undoubtedly enhance both the offense and defense— given if he were allowed to play as a two-way star like he did in college. The Titans may benefit by prioritizing acquiring a franchise quarterback to truly change their fortunes.
