Travis Hunter is an exceptional athlete. The five-star recruit sent shockwaves throughout the world of gridiron football by playing as a wide receiver in the offense and a cornerback/defensive back in the defense, especially in his junior year with the Colorado Buffaloes, taking 1036 snaps in the process.
Hunter remains steadfast that he has the athleticism to replicate the same in the NFL. In a recent interview with SiriusXM Radio, Hunter echoed his desire to play every snap with the NFL team that drafts him in Green Bay.
[I can play] all of them [snaps] if they [NFL team] give me the chance and the opportunity to do it.
Travis Hunter said
It’s not easy to play every snap in the NFL because players need to prepare for offense and defense differently. Coaches are different for every position, and memorizing every tactic in the playbook is a daunting challenge, especially for a 22-year-old who is just about to kick off his NFL journey. So, how does Travis Hunter prepare for such a tough ordeal?
Well, we kind of got 24 hours in a day. We probably sleep for 8 of those, so we probably got 16 more… All of them are dedicated to football.

Last week, Hunter showcased his wide receiver skills during Colorado’s Pro Day in front of scouts and brass from several teams, including the Titans, Giants, and Browns. He caught passes from departing quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Two things were very noticeable on the day. Hunter didn’t wear any gloves while receiving catches from Sanders and didn’t take any defensive snaps at all.
After the Pro Day concluded, he spoke with CBS. The interviewer asked Hunter what position he wanted NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to call during the announcement.
He better say wide receiver and DB.

Travis Hunter lists the reasons why he can play every snap in the NFL
Hunter averaged 111.5 snaps per season over the past two years in Colorado. In 2024 alone, he caught 96 catches, 1,258 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns on offense and four interceptions on defense. He was the sixth-best receiver in college football.

So, how did Hunter manage to be in peak athletic condition to play every snap in the NFL? The answer lies in his training program. He not only spends most of his day playing and improving his skill as a ballplayer, but a lot of his hours go into keeping his body in check so that he doesn’t fall prey to injuries.
I do a lot of treatment. People don’t get to see that part of what I do for my body to make sure I’m 100% each game. But … I know I can do it. I did it at the college level, which the game is we rarely get breaks and there’s a lot more breaks in the NFL.

Hunter idolizes his college coach Deion Sanders. One can easily see the similarity between the two. Sanders, a 2x Super Bowl winner and a Hall of Famer, was primarily a cornerback, but he also used to take punt return duties and occasionally play as a wide receiver.
Sanders believes that Hunter can play every snap in the NFL because it’s different from the college scene and much slower.
NFL is a slow game. You’re going to a huddle. How’s the contact nowadays? Minimal. So that game is more conducive to him being successful than a college game.

Sanders further added that the college scene relies on the ‘tempo’ of the game, while the pro game is more composed and tactic-driven. It gives players time to catch their breath.
Pros, it’s at least, how many seconds between plays? Please, [Travis Hunter’s] gonna go jogging after the darn game because he’s gonna have all that energy.

There’s still speculation about Hunter’s destination in the NFL. A couple of days ago the Patriots and the Giants led the pack, but the present scenario suggests the Browns are the favorites to draft the two-way star at 3.
