While Travis Hunter became the eye candy of the football world, his girlfriend/fiancee Leanna Lenee, made headlines for all the wrong reasons. From an alleged controlling mindset to inconsiderate behavior during the Heisman Trophy ceremony, Leanna attracted unnecessary heat on social media.

A section of Hunter’s fans even advised him to separate from his girlfriend due to the rumored toxicity she brings into their relationship. The constant scrutiny and hate online eventually got to her, and she reportedly made all of her accounts, including Instagram, X, and Facebook, private.

It reached a point that she had no other options left but to address the hate agenda against her. Leanna uploaded an eight-minute video on TikTok in which she explained how she started dating the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star and the controversies that have arisen in the past couple of months.

According to her, she willfully ignored Hunter when he messaged her for a date because she was seeing another girl at that time and did not want to be the third leg in the relationship.

The real reason Travis sat in my DM for two months is because he DM’d me when he had a girlfriend, and her name was in his bio. I don’t do home wrecking. I ignored him until he was single.

She emphasized her values of being a woman and said she supports women and would never dream of breaking another woman’s relationship.

Travis Hunter and Leanna started dating back in February 2022, right after he flipped his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State because Deion Sanders took over as head coach.

There have been videos circulating on social media showing Leanna trying to control Hunter’s actions. Many speculated that her behavior screams that she has very little attachment to the 21-year-old and that she doesn’t even like Hunter and is only in the relationship because of his fame.

Leanna outright denied all the claims. She clarified dating men from diverse backgrounds before meeting Hunter. However, there was a catch. He was younger than her and recently broke up with his ex-girlfriend. So, she did not want to jump at the first opportunity. Once they started going out, she figured out Hunter was a good human being.

Travis turned out to be a phenomenal and wonderful human being, and that’s why we’re together,.

Leanna concluded by saying that she will not address the issue in the future and will continue to be Hunter’s support.

The criticism was an eye-opener for Hunter and his girlfriend. In a recent episode of his podcast, the 2024 best player in college football claimed Leanna was a mess because of the online bullying and appealed that people stop with the hate.
