Even though they couldn’t secure a berth in the playoff, Travis Hunter and his team, the Colorado Buffaloes concluded the season with a stellar 52-0 feat against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. However, this shutout was accompanied by a controversy for the two-way superstar Hunter, involving his girlfriend, now fiancee, Leanna Lenee. 

After finishing the game with 10 catches for 116 yards and three touchdowns to heighten his odds of winning the Heisman Trophy, Hunter went into the stands to his fiancee. Unfortunately, the camera caught some concerning clicks of Lenee appearing quite upset despite her fiance’s solid performance.

The young couple were seen disagreeing on something– which neither of them mentioned post-incidents. Although it was fine till then, things appeared dicey when Hunter went in for a kiss but Lenee turned her face away. Even when he hugged her, she did not reciprocate.

As much as the couple wanted to avoid controversy or speculations regarding their relationship, their post-game moment caught attention across the internet, including the high profile X account of College Transfer Portal, which shared the clip with the caption, “Travis Hunter’s girlfriend was NOT happy with him after the game.” 

The love birds have been together since high school when they met at Collins High School in Georgia. After Hunter graduated and went to Jackson State University in 2022, they began a long-distance relationship. They got engaged in February this season and announced on Instagram with a beautiful post.

Travis Hunter and his fiancee fight back against criticism 

While the couple did not clarify what exactly happened after the Week 14 matchup, fans were left to speculate and they projected their aggression at Lenee accusing her of not being happy with her fiance’s Heisman Trophy-worthy performance. As the criticism got intense, she finally fought back with an Instagram story.

“Us while y’all talk sh*t about nothing y’all know,” she wrote in the caption of a video of her feeding chips to Hunter while they spent time together in their car. 

The Colorado two-way star also responded to the ongoing criticism from fans by replying to a hater’s comment with, “Stop being so invested, she good.” He also shared a bunch of lovey-dovey pictures with his ladylove to clear the air and ensure everything is great in their relationship.
