Tennessee Titans are a viable landing spot for Travis Hunter after they ended up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Towards the end of this past regular season, the Tennessee Titans did not envision themselves ending up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That meant, the focus shifted to who among Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, Abdul Carter or Cam Ward would be first off the board.

However, former GM Ran Carthon was not going to benefit from it as he was let go soon after the season ended. That meant, whoever was coming in was going to face the difficult question of either using the pick or trading it away for more draft capital.

As the Kansas City Chiefs are the current standard for a successful team in the NFL, the Titans dipped into their hierarchy to nab Mike Borgonzi. He has experience working under three different GM’s and has had a hand in their Super Bowl winning spree.

Earlier today when he was introduced to the media, one of the most important questions asked was what they would do with the No. 1 overall pick. Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker replied on behalf of the team.

We won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft.

Chad Brinker said

Adam Schefter quoted Brinker’s comment which seems to indicate that the Tennessee Titans are exploring picking at No. 1. If they decide to stick to Will Levis for another season, it is likely that Travis Hunter goes No. 1 as per Mel Kiper Jr.

The quarterback class does have Ward and Sanders, but not many are high on either of them. Mike Borgonzi has seen Alex Smith and then Patrick Mahomes grow to become top QBs. Therefore, it is possible he might skip selecting a QB until the next draft.

Titans could trade No. 1 overall pick and still pick Travis Hunter

The Tennessee Titans know they need someone who can be dynamic enough to elevate their team. Travis Hunter fits the bill as an otherworldly athlete who can play two positions. However, they can still pick him later if the New York Giants or Las Vegas Raiders want to move up.

Borgonzi said he got some calls when he got the job about the No. 1 pick.

This means teams have tried to tempt Mike Borgonzi into dropping down in the 2025 NFL draft. The franchise has not revealed what they want to do. But they could explore the possibility if they get a lucrative offer.

This could blow back as the Chicago Bears found out last season. But the Titans are in a precarious position. They do not even know if Travis Hunter wants to play for them. If they believe he isn’t interested, and the Titans do not like a QB, they could trade down.
