Travis Hunter made quite a lot of money through NIL deals during his time with Jackson State University and Colorado University. However, he was not one of the highest earners in college football. It turns out, others such as Quinn Ewers, Arch Manning and Carson Beck earned a lot more than him.

Hunter made approximately $5.7 million last year from deals with United Airlines, JLab and Celsius. Those deals helped him throughout his Heisman Trophy winning season as he now looks towards earning more after declaring for the NFL Draft.

His Adidas deal does not count in his annual earnings as it was announced right before his Heisman Trophy win. Proceeds from that would impact his earnings this season onwards. He might make much more than his last season’s earnings from Adidas itself.

However, when speaking with Boog on The Travis Hunter Show, he came to know that Carson Beck made more than $10 million through NIL deals in with the Georgia Bulldogs. He is scheduled to make $4 million from the Miami Hurricanes, but that prompted Hunter to give a seemingly angry reaction.

Where’s my $10 million? How are people getting this much money bro? Let me go back. I’m going back to college. Let me see if I can get $100 million. Let me go see if I can go back and win another Heisman, because $10 million, I ain’t make that in college. Let me go hit the portal right quick, bro.

Travis Hunter said

Knowing that another college football player made more than him did not feel good. He added that it made him jealous knowing he won the Heisman Trophy, earning just half that. That had Hunter joking he want to check out the transfer portal.

Travis Hunter could earn more than $10 million in rookie NFL season

The No. 1 overall pick last season, Caleb Williams, signed a 4-year $39.5 million contract with the Chicago Bears. At the rate at which the salary cap grows, that number is expected to surpass the $40 million mark. That means, if Travis Hunter becomes the No. 1 pick, he could earn $10 million in his rookie season.

Add along the Adidas deal and other potential endorsements both from local as well as national brands could see him earn close to double that. But it all depends on if the Tennessee Titans select him with their No. 1 overall pick.

They need a dynamic receiver to help QB Will Levis. However, there is also talk of them possibly selecting a quarterback after Levis’ struggles with interceptions. But every team knows that rookie quarterbacks have an adjustment phase.

Levis did show flashes of brilliance, which could see them sticking with him. As the upcoming draft is not brimming with elite QB prospects, they might as well draft Hunter and then see how Levis fares before taking a call next season.
