A little over two months are left until college players find their destiny through the NFL draft. Players around the country will flock to Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in April and Travis Hunter wants to be part of it.
The Colorado Buffaloes star mesmerized fans with his talents on both ends of the field. According to several mock drafts, Hunter is the likeliest candidate to be the first overall pick, and the 21-year-old intends to be present when NFL Chairman Roger Goodell calls out his name from the stage.
During a segment of his YouTube show, Hunter revealed that walking on the stage of the NFL draft as the first overall pick is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity he doesn’t want to miss.
If I’m the No. 1 pick, I only get to walk that stage one time with a smile on my face. I’ve got to do it. The first person in my family to do it? Oh, I’m definitely doing it.

While appearing on the Rich Eisen Show last year, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders revealed that his boys, Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Hunter would skip the draft and celebrate with fans and staff in Colorado.
I got two dogs; you don’t think I have plans for that? I got a kennel.

Shedeur later confirmed it on his podcast.
You won’t see us… We want to celebrate with our people, with our folks, with our wonderful student body.

Travis Hunter to continue the draft legacy
The former five-star recruit balled out in his second year in Colorado. Hunter had 15 touchdowns and 1,258 yards as a wide receiver and four interceptions and 35 tackles as a cornerback.
He won several trophies, but the cherry on the cake was being named the best player in college football when he beat the likes of Dillon Gabriel and Cam Ward for the Heisman Trophy.

If Hunter attends the draft, he will continue the recent trend of Heisman Trophy winners. Baker Mayfield was the last Heisman winner to not attend the draft when he was drafted first overall by the Cleveland Browns.
Hunter was projected to be the top pick of the draft, but teams are reportedly targeting quarterbacks. So, there’s a possibility he trickles down a few spots and the recent FanDuel mock draft suggests that might be the case.
