Travis Hunter became the talk of the sports world after winning the Heisman Trophy, surpassing elite contenders like Ashton Jeanty with his remarkable two-way performance. However, at the awards ceremony, a story involving his fiancee, Leanna Lenee, sparked an ongoing debate.
What started the discussions on social media was when fans felt Lenee seemingly did not want to stand up to congratulate Hunter after his Heisman Victory. They saw that she needed a nudge from Deion Sanders to understand she had a role to play there.
That narrative was fueled when she was then seen bossing over the Colorado Buffaloes superstar at a scheduled marketing event. Fans again felt she was trying to force her influence in an event which was supposed to be all about her fiancé.
But then, Leanna Lenee came out with a video explaining her stance on every single instance. She even clarified what went about in the Adidas commercial. However, Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe was not impressed, and took his nightly podcast Nightcap, to give his take.

Shannon Sharpe particularly took offense to Lenee outing Travis Hunter for allegedly cheating prior to them becoming a couple. The former tight end feels Leanna Lenee is doing everything she should not, especially in a public relationship.
Michael Irvin steps in on Travis Hunter discourse
This clip by Shannon Sharpe went viral, notching nearly six million views on X. But most notably, it came to the attention of Dallas Cowboys great Michael Irvin. The Hall of Famer listening to Sharpe’s words replied to the video with a comment.
The Hall of Famer used a folded hands emoticon along with one that signifies strength. These words were a shout out to his fellow three-time Super Bowl winner to stop talking about the young couple. Irvin probably felt someone close to home talking about this discourse was pushing it too much.
CODE VIALATION NIGGA!!!!!!! I love you to LIFE but STOP!!!!! ???? https://t.co/hy63tdeZrF

Sharpe and his co-host Chad Johnson, Irvin and Deion Sanders are close. Which is probably why Michael Irvin did not want them talking about one of his favorite college football players. The discussions have already gone too far with the normal public talking about it, and the young couple probably just want some peace and quiet.
