Travis Kelce fires back at critics challenging his Guardians’ fandom

With the Major League Baseball playoffs in full effect, it has prompted athletes from all sports to root for their home teams. For Travis and Jason Kelce, it means an opportunity to show their support for the Cleveland Guardians. The brothers were born and brought up in Ohio and as a result, never fail to miss an opportunity to represent CLE.
Travis Kelce has been spotted at games of the Cleveland Cavaliers but fans do not have enough evidence to believe that the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs has been a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians and the Yankees are facing off in the ALCS with the former trailing 1-2 to the latter.
After fans trolled Travis Kelce for being a bandwagon Guardians fan, he clapped back with a response on X.
I’ve been a Cleveland sports fan my entire life…Make it back to countless amount of games over the years both Guards and Cavs just to enjoy these memories with my friends and family, WIN OR LOSE!!… and I don’t wear Cleveland gear one time and all of a sudden I’m not a real fan?! Ask anybody that was in or around that suite on game 1 who I was cheering for, they’ll let you know I was there for the Cleveland Guardians.

He found it funny because although he was in attendance for game 1 of the ALCS matchup along with his girlfriend Taylor Swift, fans still doubted his loyalty to the Guardians.
Travis Kelce got called out by fans for not wearing Guardians gear
The logic behind the criticism is funny. Travis Kelce was not in Cleveland Guardians gear which led fans to believe that he is not rooting for the team. In the past, when he has been in attendance at the Cavaliers games, he usually rocked NBA jerseys which made his allegiance to the home team evident to fans.
The Cleveland Guardians responded to Kelce’s post on X and made it known that they expect to see the tight end decked in Guardians gear the next time. “We’ll see you next time in full uniform though? right?” the team’s social media page commented.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift grabbed the headlines with their presence at game 1 between the Yankees and the Guardians. The couple was spotted sharing a few affectionate moments on camera.
Travis Kelce has been loyal to Cleveland, Ohio since he was born in Westlake, Ohio. He attended Cleveland Heights High School and then went to University in Cincinnati. Despite reaching the heights of success, Travis and Jason Kelce continue to be proud of their roots. The duo supports businesses based out of Ohio such as Garage Beer. Travis Kelce might end his football career having played for the Kansas City Chiefs but he will never turn his back on Ohio.
