A year ago Travis Kelce hadn’t even thought of dating a superstar such as Taylor Swift, let alone meeting British Royalty personally. When the NFL star finally did meet the Prince of Wales at his girlfriend’s Eras Tour in London, he couldn’t get over it. 

In the recent episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs star showered high praises on Prince William after meeting him along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte in London on Friday. Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday at his old friend’s concert and also shared a backstage selfie with her and his two children.

Dude, he was the coolest motherf**ker. He was so cool. I didn’t realize this because obviously, we’re backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet.
Travis Kelce admitted

Kelce also admitted that before meeting the Prince of Wales, he was quite confused about how to greet him, whether to “bow” or do “crusty” or shake their hands like an “American idiot.” 

His brother, Jason Kelce then shared how they were explained beforehand not to be too courteous in front of the Royalty since it was not a Royal event, but as he met him, Jason addressed him as “Your Royal Highness.” The Kelce brothers admitted they just wanted to be polite, especially being in England.

While talking about Prince William, the three-time Super Bowl champion also recalled the unforgettable story of Swift and Prince William from a charity event in 2013. It was when they performed the 1986 hit “Livin’ on a Prayer” along with Jon Bon Jovi, who was also among the high-profile celebrity attendees at Eras Tour in London. 

Tay got him out of his shell and sure enough, he went up there and they ripped it and they said they had a blast. That just shows you, you know, how personable he is.

He also appreciated the Prince of Wales for going along with Swift that night, highlighting no other Royalty would do that but Prince William was “cool enough” to be a part of that.
