It was not the best of starts of Travis Kelce at the American Century Golf Tournament. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end accidentally hit a spectator leaving them bloody.
Kelce, along with brother Jason, took part in the celebrity golf tournament to raise charity for various organizations. On July 12, the brothers arrived at the Edgewood Lake Tahoe golf course hoping for a good show.
The 34-year-old went for a massive swing at hole 16 but the ball instead of reaching its intended target hit a spectator. The ball hit the back of the head of a woman presumably in her 20s per People Magazine.
Eye witness accounts revealed seeing blood being visible through her blonde hair. Paramedics reportedly rushed to aide her. After finding out about the incident, Travis Kelce walked up to the woman and took a picture with her as a token of apology.
Jason Kelce was also close by taking a closer look if she was alright. The woman apparently wasn’t sure whether it was the retired Eagles center or his brother who hit the shot.
Travis Kelce’s second victim of the day
The 34-year-old’s whacky day continued as he managed to find another spectator in the crowd. Kelce was off his game clearly.
The victim on this occasion was a man wearing a blue shirt, shorts, sunglasses, and a hat to keep the LA sunlight away. No sooner than Kelce received the information he walked the length of the course to say sorry to the individual. A video surfaced on social media documenting his apology.

During their last week’s episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kelce brothers spoke at length about being careful not to hit any fans during the golf event. Jason sought advice from his brother because he had already been part of it in 2022.
My advice would be don't feel bad if you hit somebody because they bought the ticket… It's a bunch of amateurs out there trying to play golf so don't feel bad.Travis Kelce replied
Unfortunately, they ended up doing exactly what they wanted to avoid. It wasn’t all bad because Jason bagged a much-required victory for the brothers as he dispatched a 322-yard hit, winning the golf drive contest.
They weren’t alone of course. Travis and Jason’s father Ed Kelce were seen taking pictures with several people while Jason’s wife Kylie Kelce chatted away most of the afternoon.
