Travis Kelce loves to play football for the Kansas City Chiefs, but he knows better than anyone else that at some point he has to retire. The star tight end revealed whether he will pull the plug on his career sooner or continue playing to honor his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s wishes.
On Monday, Kelce faced the media in New Orleans during Super Bowl week. Amidst questions regarding his relationship with Taylor Swift and missing the Grammy Awards, Kelce answered where he sees himself three years down the line.
Where will I be in 3 years? Ah man, I don’t know. Hopefully still playing football [because] I love doing this, I love coming into work every day and I feel like I still got a lot of football left in me, but we will see what happens.

Travis Kelce explored other career opportunities in the offseason
Kelce has contemplated retiring ever since his older brother Jason Kelce hung up his boots after last year’s Super Bowl. The 35-year-old stuck around because he wanted to achieve a three-peat with the Chiefs and his beau convinced him to continue playing.

His retirement rumors caught a second wind after he began to diversify his career options. Kelce signed contracts to act and host TV shows alongside appearing in commercials. Even the Hollywood brass approached the 3x Super Bowl winner to retire and commit to acting full-time.
I have been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That’s always been the goal knowing that football only lasts for so long [and] you gotta find a way to get into another career and other profession. I have been doing that in my off-seasons but for the most part I plan on being a Kansas City Chief and playing football.

The Chiefs lost just two games en route to Super Bowl LIX in NOLA. Kelce experienced one of his worst seasons, logging 823 yards and just 3 touchdowns in the regular season.
Despite the outside chatter of the Chiefs receiving favors from the referee, Kelce remained steadfast in his goal of adding another ring to his collection. Earlier, he completely brushed aside the ‘NFL is rigged’ theory and revealed he only cares about winning games.
The three consecutive Super Bowl victories will be like a cherry on top of a decadent cake. No one will fault him if he announces his retirement after lifting the Lombardi next Sunday and goes his merry way with Swift.
