If a fan of Travis Kelce were told that the future Hall of Fame-worthy tight end once aspired to be a quarterback before settling into his role at the tight end, they would likely be skeptical. However, with the revelation coming directly from Kelce himself, they embraced this intriguing narrative.
After starting as a quarterback in high school, the Kansas City Chiefs star took his ambitions to college by enrolling at the University of Cincinnati. Although he didn’t achieve the success as a quarterback as he has as a tight end, he ultimately forged a remarkable career in that position.
But what makes this story even more fascinating is that among the many legendary quarterbacks of the league, Kelce’s source of inspiration was Josh Allen– his upcoming opponent for the AFC Championship game.
Ahead of the thrilling match, the ten-time Pro Bowler reflected on how he aspired to make big plays as a passer and runner like the Buffalo Bills quarterback, praising his remarkable arm strength that Kelce wished he had.

Travis Kelce embraces challenge ahead as Chiefs gear up for AFC Championship against Bills
Coming off an impressive playoff win to shut down the speculations of him slowing down, Kelce is thrilled about the challenge ahead. Though the stakes are certainly high for the Bills, as if they lose, quarterback Allen will tie with Aaron Rodgers for most postseason losses, whereas the Chiefs will advance a step closer to the historic three-peat they aspire.
Even though the Bills and Chiefs are often pitted against each other, Kelce’s high words for Allen were another example of their mutual respect and admiration. One of the fierce rivalries of the AFC is set to unfold at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
