Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and leading tight end of all time Travis Kelce share a special bond on and off the field. The duo shared a heartfelt moment amid the harsh loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl LIX.

“Love you brother,” Mahomes said to Kelce. “Forever dawg. You know that. I love you man. I owe you a lot for what you’ve done,” Kelce responded embracing Mahomes in a tight hug.

On his New Heights podcast, Kelce told fans that he plans to take some time to consider his future. He also admitted that there are several factors that play a role in his decision.

He went on to express that it will be grueling process to come to a decision. However, league insiders speculate that this could be the end, based on what they’ve heard.

That process can be grueling and it can weigh on you, it can make you better and it can drive you crazy at the same time. And right now, it’s one of those things where it was kind of driving me crazy this year… As you see yourself or not feel yourself have the success that you once used to have, it’s a tough pill to swallow. And then on top of that, to not be there in the biggest moments, knowing your team’s counting on you. Those are all extremely hard things to, it’s just a hard reality.

According to a team source, If Travis Kelce opts to retire, the Chiefs hope to have his decision by March 14 as they navigate a pivotal offseason. His current contract, which extends through next season, includes an $11.5 million roster bonus set to be paid on March 15, per Over The Cap.

Meanwhile, the NFL’s free agency period is set to begin on March 10. In the long run, Travis Kelce has proven to be one of the biggest weapons in the Kansas City Chiefs’ making of a dynasty. Kelce, who’s had the second largest run in the active roster, is among the top tight-ends of all time.
