Taylor Swift recalled how Travis Kelce got a bit tipsy after taking a few shots of “tea” at her Eras Tour event in London. The effects were so severe that the Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end failed to differentiate between Hugh Grant’s wife and movie director Greta Gerwig.

Swift was a guest during a recent segment of Late Night with Seth Meyers, promoting her 12th album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl.’ While discussing its success, Swift recounted an amusing moment that occurred during her performance in London last year.

Kelce got familiar with Grant, 65, in the VIP tent along with the Paddington actor’s wife, Anna Eberstein. However, the 36-year-old had a few too many “tea,” as Swift put it, and he thought he was speaking with his favorite director, Greta Gerwig.

Kelce told her that he loved her movie ‘Barbie’ (an award-winning movie directed by Gerwig). He even squeezed in an “I’m just Ken” joke while pointing at Swift performing her greatest hits on the stage.

After the show ended, Kelce told Swift that he had a great time chatting with Gerwig while showing her photos. He even mentioned cracking the “I’m just Ken” joke. Gerwig responded with a faint smile, which Kelce found perplexing. He thought Gerwig might have heard the joke far too many times.

Kelce explained to Swift that Grant and Gerwig were really close the entire time they were in the tent. So, he thought Grant could be shooting a new movie with her. “They kind of seem like they’re like soulmates,” Kelce said, according to Swift.

Swift quickly discovered that Kelce had made a big mistake. “The tea is crazy tonight, Travis,” Swift had told him.

The ‘You Belong With Me’ singer corrected her beau’s confusion by revealing the real identity of Grant’s “soul mate.” “Oh, that’s not Greta?” a shocked Kelce asked Swift.

It was, in fact, Eberstein. Fortunately, all parties took the harmless mix-up in a lighthearted manner. Grant later showed his gratitude to Swift for giving everyone a great Eras Tour evening. He tweeted:

Dear @taylorswift13. You have an incredible show, an amazing and very hospitable team… [with] excellent if gigantic boyfriend. Thanks so much from one [aging] London boy, wife and thrilled 8-year-old #halfgirlhalfbracelet.

Swift left a reply under Grant’s tweet:

As a long-time Hugh Grant stan, this tweet is very important to my culture.

Taylor Swift revealed that “The Life of a Showgirl” is her favorite album

Swift’s album catalog consists of a myriad of blockbuster hits, including Fearless, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department, etc. However, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is her favorite creation of them all.

Swift told Meyers:

It’s absolutely been my favorite one so far…the fans are just so funny, they’re so adorable, so clever (…) I’m just laughing at what they’re doing.

And she picked “Wish List” as her favorite song from the album. She told the UK’s Heart Radio:

It was the song where after we finished it, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re done. Like, we’re we’re good. We’re done with this. This is the final piece.’ It’s a really dreamy song. It’s a really romantic song. It details all these different things that people aspire to have in their lives and all the wishes that people are making all over the world.

Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ went global on October 3, taking over 14 of the top 15 spots on the Apple Music Singles chart, according to ratingsgamemusic.
