On Sunday, Jason Kelce had one of the most bittersweet days of his life. As much as he was elated to see his former team Philadelphia Eagles register their second Super Bowl win, he had to witness his younger brother Travis Kelce suffer one of the most heartbreaking losses of his career.
The Kansas City Chiefs were knocking on the door of history. After winning the Super Bowls LVII and LVIII in two straight years, the Chiefs had an opportunity to become the first team to win the title three times in a row. Little did they know, the Eagles were prepared to the nines to put a stop to that.
The Eagles led a offensive charge while the defense held the fort strong. Cooper DeJean‘s pick-six off Patrick Mahomes also ensured that the defense had their hands on the score as well. The Chiefs perished into 34-0 before they launched a garbage time attack. Nevertheless, the Eagles had a clear majority and went on to win the Super Bowl LIX in splendid fashion.
It has to be heartbreaking, both for Travis and Jason Kelce. Jason, whom Travis shares a very close bond, is also a huge role model for the tight end. It definitely breaks his heart, but Travis definitely wouldn’t want Jason to dwell on his misery.
Speaking on New Heights, Jason Kelce expressed his happiness for the Eagles who have avenged the loss from two years ago. However, upon seeing Travis’ sullen face, Jason asked if Travis wanted him to cut that part from the podcast and tone down his excitement. Travis, being the embodiment of grace, encouraged his brother to let loose and fully embrace the Eagles’ victory.
Dude, you’re allowed to have your world, your legacy. You’re allowed to have that. You can be happy for your former teammates. Don’t let what happened to me make you feel any less proud of what you helped build.

Jason Kelce doesn’t want to take any credit for the Eagles’ SB LIX win
Jason Kelce, played as a centre at the Eagles for 13 years, being an integral part of the Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots. He retired ahead of the 2024 season, ending his season with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2023 offseason.

In addition to his induvidual accolades, Kelce has been a part of framing the Eagles ecosystem. However, in the latest episode of his podcast with his brother, he admitted that he doesn’t want to take the credit for the latest win. ”I didn’t help build sh*t. They did this on their own. I’m not part of this,” the senior Kelce noted.
However, Travis Kelce didn’t have any of it. He highlighted the impact of the former Eagles center on his teammates, including Jordan Mailata and Jalen Hurts. According to the Chiefs’ tight end, Jason may no longer be physically present in the building, but his influence and legacy continue to inspire everyone to strive for excellence.
