Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones turned 82 this Sunday, but instead of receiving a celebratory gift, his team experienced a sting of defeat. With a humiliating loss where they couldn’t score past nine and allowed the opponents to score nearly 50 points, the Cowboys sunk to the second last place within the division at 3-3 season standing.
After two back-to-back victories, things seemed to be improving for the Cowboys despite all the criticism and scrutiny. But after they suffered the most embarrassing loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions, the team appears lost, especially since it was their fourth consecutive home game defeat.
As much as the game shocked many, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole decided to give a rather unfiltered reaction to the 47-9 defeat. She predicted that someone’s job might be in jeopardy after this embarrassing Sunday night.
It’s no secret that Dallas received a boatload of criticism over their choices this offseason, one of which was hiring Mike Zimmer as the Defensive Coordinator. Given, that the Cowboys’ defense is ranked 17th with a Defense+ below 50, according to Pro Football Network. This is their lowest ranking since 2020 because of the departure of Dan Quinn.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy decided to skip the post-game press conference entirely, leaving behind their signal-caller Dak Prescott to take up the responsibility.
Dak Prescott stays committed to improvement after 47-9 defeat
Coming to the offense, despite the best efforts by quarterback Prescott, who could not be the “Superman” that Ryan Clark wanted him to be, Dak admitted that he could have played better on Sunday. He delivered the lowest stats performance of this season with 178 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Even though this defeat has shaken everyone’s confidence in America’s team, the three-time Pro Bowler has decided not to “panic” and focus on performing better in the future. However, he did admit the lack of Dallas’ run game which affected the offense significantly.
