The situation has been exacerbated for Kayla Nicole, who, despite her desire to maintain a positive outlook towards her ex’s partner, Taylor Swift, had to endure intense public scrutiny and Swifties’ wrath.
In the second episode of Fox’s Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, the sports reporter joined as a contestant alongside Alana Blanchard and Kyla Pratt. Not to anyone’s surprise, the topic of Nicole’s former boyfriend emerged during the conversation, along with his current girlfriend, as Nicole disclosed that Travis Kelce “is dating Taylor Swift.”
While the influencer – who was in an on-and-off relationship with Kelce for five years, expressed that she holds no personal animosity towards the 14-time Grammy Winner, the immense scrutiny and negative comments from fans have been overwhelming for her.

After Kelce and Nicole split in 2022, Kelce found his way to the “Midnight” singer by going to her concert held at his home stadium, Arrowhead, Kansas City. Although Nicole and Swift have never spoken negatively about one another, Swifties has been quick to cast a judgment on the sports reporter from the beginning.

After expressing her honest feelings towards Swift, Nicole reflected on the impact of the constant criticism and scrutiny by both the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end and the pop star’s fanbases. She voiced her frustration over fans connecting every post she makes to Kelce, even when her content is as innocuous as about “sky being blue,” on her social media.
It’s pretty constant and exhausting… It’s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person. I think there’s just the comparison and it’s just like on loop. I think I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.

As the episode progressed, Nicole was taken aside by Special Forces operatives, who helped her in confronting the media scrutiny and “social media battlefield” stemming from her former relationship with the prominent football player.
