Don’t tell Travis Kelce, but his girlfriend Taylor Swift is a fan of Kansas City Chiefs teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. Perhaps, Kelce was already aware of that.

Swift hinted that Hardman has a special place in her life because the 26-year-old receiver was part of the reason the Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls. It also helped Kelce win his third ring in his career.

By staying true to the traditions, the Chiefs organized a ring unveiling ceremony on June 13. All the Chiefs players who were part of the 2023 winning team (even those who are no longer contracted) arrived at Nelson Atkins Museum of Art on Thursday.

Mecole Hardman attended with his wife Chariah Gordon. He wore a sky-green tux, covered with the Chiefs logo on the inside. After taking their place inside the auditorium, a box containing the Super Bowl LVIII ring was placed in front of him.

Upon opening the box a video of his Super Bowl winning touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers played on the display. His wife pulled out her phone and went live on Instagram to share the moment.

Her fans flocked to the chat, and one of them was Taylor Swift. The 14-time Grammy winner who is in Liverpool for Eras Tour congratulated the Chiefs and left a message for Hardman.

And we get another year of Mecole.
Taylor Swift wrote

Despite leaving the Chiefs in the 2023 offseason for the New York Jets. Hardman made a swift return to Kansas City midway through the season. His decision paid dividends as he secured his third ring.

The Chiefs decided to repay the Georgia native by extending his contract. Hardman signed a one-year deal on June 7.

Not long after Hardman returned to Arrowhead, Swift became a regular figure at the Chiefs games. Slowly and steadily, she became friends with the players and their partners. Hardman recalled that the ‘cruel summer’ singer once baked pop tarts for the D-lineman, but he joked that he didn’t get any.

In an episode of the Pivot Podcast, Hardman made further revelations about Swift’s positive influence in the Chiefs locker room. He claimed there was a difference in the team.

To us, it [really] was nothing because it’s Trav [Travis Kelce] bro. Like if anybody’s gonna do that it’s Trav that’s gonna get it right there… It’s Travis that’s going to do it but like Trav [is] just such a cool dude and Taylor’s so cool bro like even going to the crib and meeting her and whatever type thing you know he had to get together.

Swift’s Eras Tour will continue deep into the next NFL Season. But there’s nothing to worry about. The league committee created the 2024 game schedule keeping the dates of Swift’s tour in mind. So, she can easily enjoy cheering for Kelce and Hardman.
