Disturbing pattern emerging where the homes of athletes are being broken into

Kelce and Mahomes are just one of the few athletes who have been burglarized. The NFL has warned team security directors and the NFLPA of “organized and skilled groups” that have been targeting the homes of professional athletes for burglaries. It is simple for them to figure out the schedules of the players as they target their residences on game days.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis’s home in River Hills, Wisconsin was burglarized while he was playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers. As per ABC News, a South American cartel is behind the string of burglaries.

The FBI is investigating the incidents as international organized crime. As per the source, “Multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigations” are considering the possibility that the break-ins are part of an international scheme.

The Leawood Police Department has not commented on the status of the investigation just yet. In the interim, the players of major sports leagues have been advised to stay vigilant as the ring has been targeting athletes from the NFL and the NBA.
