It is no secret that newly acquired Cleveland Cavaliers star James Harden and American rapper Travis Scott share a close bond with each other. The two have often shown support for each other’s works over the years. Harden even starred in Scott’s ‘Way Back’ music video.

On Saturday night, Scott made an appearance courtside and embraced the 11-time NBA All-Star, who was making his debut for the Cavs. It was a hard-fought win for the Cavs as they recorded a 132-126 victory over a struggling Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center.

After a horrid start to the 2025-26 campaign, both on and off the court, Harden and Kawhi Leonard turned the season around by winning 17 of their last 22 games.

While they were far from being championship contenders in the West, things did seem to be headed in the right direction for the Clippers. However, Harden was traded to the Cavs for Darius Garland and a second-round pick. Following the trade, Harden’s trade to the east was subtly dissed by Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey as not being a needle mover.

The former MVP looked in high spirits on his debut and was crashed by Travis Scott during his post-match interview. The rapper was fired up after what he witnessed from his friend. Scott jumped in, grabbed the microphone, and hijacked the interview.

Harden was named in the starting lineup without taking part in any practice session with his new teammates. The game was anything but straightforward as the Cavs were down by three heading into the fourth quarter.

Mitchell led all scorers with 35 points. Harden looked right at home as he poured in 23 points and handed out eight assists in 32 minutes. He was efficient as well, as he went 7-of-13 from the field, knocked down 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, and converted all four of his free throws.

It was a slow start to the game for the guard, but he came alive down the stretch to help set off a game-ending 18-5 run. Prior to his trade, Harden was averaging 25.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 8.1 assists in 44 appearances for the Clippers.
