Statistically, Travon Walker has experienced a down year compared to his first three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Right now, Walker isn’t focused on personal achievements, as his team is winning football games.
After 15 weeks of football, the Jaguars sat at the top of the AFC South with ten wins and were hungry for more. This was an anomaly. The Jaguars haven’t had such success in a long time.
The Jags went 9-8 in consecutive years with Trevor Lawrence as the signal caller until the 2025 season, hitting the ten-win mark. However, their resurgence didn’t inspire much chatter similar to the Patriots.
In reality, the Jags needed to defeat a contender, and that’s exactly what they did in Week 16. Lawrence and Co. walked into Mile High and scored 34 points against the Denver Broncos, a team with a top-three defense.
After the game, Duval Nation’s Gus Logue spoke with Travon Walker, who had five total tackles on the day. Logue asked Walker if he and his teammates would welcome new fans given the impressive run they are on.
Everyone gonna try to hop on this bandwagon now. We don’t want nobody. Stay where you’re at. F*** everyone but us. Excuse my language, mom, dad and grandma. But f*** everybody but us.

Walker has accumulated 32 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss, two pass deflections and 2.5 sacks in 12 games. He underwent surgery on his left wrist, which kept him out of three games, including a win over the Kansas City Chiefs in week five.
The former first overall pick has played a total of 61 games for the Jaguars, racking up 194 combined tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 26.5 sacks, 7 pass deflections and one interception. The Jaguars picked up the fifth-year option on his contract in the offseason.
The Liam Coen effect over the Jaguars is clear as daylight
It’s the Jaguars’ first true winning season since Blake Brotles led them to a 10-6 finish in 2017. They crashed out in the conference final game against Tom Brady‘s Patriots.

However, the Jags fans need to travel ten more years in the past to witness the last time their team won 11 games in a season. They reached as far as the divisional playoffs.
2025 is only the fourth winning season since then and the first under the leadership of Liam Coen. The Jaguars poached Coen from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and appointed him as the head coach.
Fans in Tampa hated Coen for leaving the team, but the move made sense for the Jaguars. Coen was the catalyst who helped Baker Mayfield throw 4500 yards and 41 touchdowns last year. Without Coen, Mayfield has thrown 3144 yards and 23 touchdowns in 15 games and lost the division title to the Carolina Panthers.
Meanwhile, Lawrence has reaped the benefits. He has already thrown a career-high 26 touchdowns along with 7 touchdowns on the ground, 3489 passing yards, and 11 picks.
The Jags haven’t clinched the division yet, but a win against the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday would guarantee the South. It will be the Jags’ first divisional crown since 2022, when they reached the divisional playoffs, only to be knocked out by the Kansas City Chiefs.
