Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly shown interest in launching a €100m bid to purchase French club, FC Nantes. In a report by the French news outlet, L’Equipe, TAA has reinvigorated his interest in having ownership in one of the clubs after former attempts failed to purchase AS Saint-Etienne and Le Havre.
The report explains that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s father, Michael Arnold, who manages his son’s interests via. a London-based investment firm has shown a keen fascination towards the ever-evolving French market. To add to that, this is not the first rodeo for the English full-back to be a shareholder in a French organization as he owns shares in the French Formula 1 team, Alpine F1 through Otro Capital.
The report by L’Equipe further stated that French business mogul, Waldemar Kita isn’t one of the most popular figures amongst the fanbase of Nantes. He has owned the club since 2007 and in recent times has shown disinterest in the sporting and financial struggles of the outfit which has sparked the speculations of the English right-back entering the scene.
To add to that, Kita has failed to construct a private stadium as promised and also failed to register the TV rights deal which further intensifies the anticipation of Kita letting the club go from his own hold.
The report also states that it could very well be Kylian Mbappe who recently joined Real Madrid, playing a critical role in inspiring the other footballers to have a stake in a football club. Ever since he bought 80 percent of Ligue 2 outfit, Stade Malherbe Caen, speculations of other notable footballers walking similar trails have been emerging a lot more regularly.
