Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer is not having a good time in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He was recently dropped to the minor league in Japan, which sparked some wild reaction among MLB fans online.
Bauer, the former Cy Young Award winner, is currently in his 2nd stint with the Yokohama DeNA Baystars. After a successful time in 2023, he would spend the 2024 season in Mexico. As he failed to land a contract with an MLB team again, he returned to the Baystars ahead of the 2025 season.
However, things have not gone as he had planned. The pitcher is having trouble on the mound and is struggling against hitters. In a recent game against the Yomiuri Giants, Bauer had a day to forget.
In the 5.1 innings he pitched against the Giants, the ex-MLB star gave up 13 baserunners. He gave up 7 hits and walked 6 batters while also conceding 5 runs on 104 pitches.

It was later revealed that Bauer had been sent to the minor leagues in the NPB following this outing against the Giants. His ERA, meanwhile, rose to 4.13, one of the worst in the leagues.

Trevor Bauer admits to being ‘completely lost’ during 2nd stint struggles with DeNA Baystars
Trevor Bauer had a disastrous outing against the Yomiuri Giants. Following this game, he was sent to the lower leagues as he continued to struggle in his 2nd stint with the DeNA Baystars. He would recently admit that he is feeling ‘completely lost‘ at the moment.

In an interview with the Japan Times on Saturday, the 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner expressed that he was frustrated. The pitcher pointed out how he was leading in strikeouts but also had given up several hits.
It’s a mixture of frustration and depression. Everything I’ve tried has been unsuccessful. So I don’t know. I have five elite pitches. When I throw them in the zone, they hit like .400 on balls in play. I lead the Central League in strikeouts, but I’ve given up the most hits and the most runs. I don’t know how to rationalize those two things. I have elite swing-and-miss stuff, but every time I throw it in the zone, it gets hit. I don’t know what else to (do) I’m completely lost, to be honest.

Bauer has been out of the MLB since 2021, when some serious domestic abuse and s**ual assault allegations were leveled at him. He was later released from his contract by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Recently, he had a major win off the field. A court would award him $310k after his accuser broke the terms of their settlement and failed to show up in the hearings.
