Ex-MLB player Trevor Bauer’s sexual assault case takes a new turn after his latest video on social media. One of his accusers Darcy Adanna Esemonu was charged with felony fraud for allegedly suing the former Los Angeles Dodgers player in a sexual assault case on Monday, as per various news reports.

Bauer took to X, questioning MLB “What else can I possibly do to prove my innocence in all of this”. He claimed that “these women and their lawyers” attempted to extort him of a high amount of money by deframing him of sexual violence. Following the initial accusation he was suspended by MLB for 324 games but later got reduced to 194 after a private arbitration hearing.

It is still the largest suspension case in the major leagues for domestic violence policy. Bauer’s case had a cataclysmic effect on his career, as he has yet to walk on an MLB field since suspension. While many are hoping to see the former 1x CY Young Award winner in major leagues, but he is still yet to get any calls.

He was released in January 2023 by the Los Angeles Dodgers after serving a lengthy suspension for his alleged sexual assault case. Since then he has pitched in Japan and Mexico hoping for a call back to MLB. Bauer’s career came to a halt in 2021 after a San Diego woman sued him for assault at his home in Pasadena.

Why was Trevor Bauer’s accuser charged with fraud allegations against ex-MLB pitcher?

Trevor Bauer’s MLB career took an everlasting pause even before it reached its height following his involvement in alleged sexual assault cases. However, in a recent case update, it was revealed that one of his accusers Darcy Adanna Esemonu fabricated her pregnancy and sexual violence allegations against the pitcher in an attempted extortion and deframing case.

She filed a lawsuit against Bauer stating he choked and assaulted her in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2020. Later she went on to say that she had a miscarriage and blamed the pitcher for her grievances and emotional damage. However, Bauer denied all allegations and stated that she was never pregnant to begin with. 

This is insane. She never had an abortion, because she was never even pregnant…When I refused to pay her the $3.6 million…she made up a bogus sexual assault claim and filed a civil suit against me.

An indictment was issued against Esemonu, but it was not until Monday that case information was unsealed. Esemonu will be put on trial on April 26 and will possibly face jail time of 16 years if convicted of both crimes.
