The Jacksonville Jaguars faced a setback early on in their matchup against the Houston Texans as quarterback Trevor Lawrence had to be carted off the field. The quarterback took a brutal hit from Azeez Al-Shaair in what looks to be a dirty hit by the linebacker.
With under 4:20 left to go in the second quarter, Trevor Lawrence went for a scramble and as he approached the first-down line, he set himself to slide. He slowed down right before he crossed the line and it was evident that he did not need to be tackled. However, Azeez Al-Shaair thought differently.
The linebacker, who has gained notoriety for his questionable hits chose to dive into Lawrence headfirst. This resulted in the quarterback lying on the field and putting his hand up doing the fencing response indicating that he had experienced trauma to the head.

This infuriated Lawrence’s teammates who wasted no time in jumping on the linebacker. Evan Engram charged at him and pushed Al-Shaair on the field before flags were thrown on the field. Both teams ended up exchanging blows as Trevor Lawrence continued to remain on the field while the medical team tended to him.
The referees ejected Azeez Al-Shaair. As the linebacker was leaving the field, he continued to trash-talk fans in the stands. This further enraged the crowd and resulted in them throwing trash from all corners onto him. This play and his attitude after did not sit well with fans who took shots at him on X.

The NFL should suspend Azeez Al-Shaair over this hit. He made an unnecessary tackle when the quarterback was showing clear signs of sliding at the first down line. At this moment, the hope is that Trevor Lawrence will get well soon. The quarterback is likely to have sustained a concussion.
