Last Friday, a daunting contrast in ages saw a heavily-touted boxing bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul turn into snoozefest. Those at the AT&T stadium felt like the 8-round spar was as banal as it could’ve gotten. Meanwhile, those who tuned in on Netflix faced issues of their own. The live feed buffered and even crashed at times, evoking widespread outrage among the netizens.

WWE CCO Triple H has broken his silence on how he’ll react if the same situation poses itself on the Netflix premiere episode of Raw. Speaking on Greg & The Morning Buzz, The Game said he’d be fine with the buffering if Raw tops 60-70 million viewers that night. However, that’s just wishful thinking. Deep inside, Hunter probably knows it’s a pipe dream.

The Tyson vs. Paul fight peaked at 65 million concurrent viewers. In other figures released by Netflix via press release, the overall event was watched by 108 million global viewers. Despite staggering figures, the live audience was peeved by incessant buffering. These concerns also made it to the backstage circles in WWE.

If our first night buffers and they come and say it was 60-70 million households watching, I’ll be good with the buffering.

A report from Fightful Select implies that the streaming platform has assured the Stamford-based promotion that their connectivity problems will be fixed. Raw’s debut on Netflix is going to be a busy night. In a recent announcement, Triple H locked down Travis Scott for the show. Moreover, 16-time World Champion John Cena is set to be there as well.

Although there’s no intel about The Rock‘s status, he’s expected to pull up to the Intuit Dome to be a part of history. Everyone knows that the Hollywood actor now sits on TKO’s Board of Directors. WWE is one of his priorities, and he’s told the higher-ups that he’ll keep checking back.

What did Triple H say about changes coming to Raw on Netflix?

Earlier this year, Triple H was on Logan Paul‘s IMPAULSIVE podcast. Addressing the first-of-its-kind $5 billion worth WWE-Netflix deal, The Cerebral Assassin gave an insight into what changes the fans could expect.

The most they’ll be relieved to know is that Raw on Netflix wouldn’t be censored. Also, the ongoing runtime of Raw being 2 hours might end on the streaming platform. The flagship WWE brand is expected to revert to its three-hour format once it moves out of linear television.

Moreover, Roman Reigns, who’s currently a SmackDown-exclusive superstar, is scheduled for Raw appearances beyond its premiere episode as well. That spell might last until WrestleMania, with The OTC making multiple appearances to get the Netflix era up and running.
