Coming off the inaugural episode of Raw on Netflix, fans had high expectations from WWE for this week’s episode of the show. However, the promotion did not disappoint and put on a great show this week as well. No doubt, one of the highlights of this show was the much-anticipated debut of Pentagon Jr., now known in WWE as Penta.

After the show went off the air, Triple H posted a short behind-the-scenes video with Penta. The two were standing for a photo shoot and posed while displaying the Luchador’s iconic “cero miedo” hand gestures. The King of Kings welcomed the 39-year-old aboard his roster and mentioned how they had zero fear during WWE’s new era.

WWE had advertised prior to the episode that Chad Gable would be facing a mystery opponent on this show. However, nearly everyone knew that this opponent was going to be none other than Penta. Even the commentators joked that this was the worst-kept secret in professional wrestling. The company had even put up his merchandise in a WWE shop hours before the episode aired.

Regardless, the former AEW Tag Team Champion had a stellar presentation on the show. The commentators did a great job hyping him up, and his aura was undeniable. The WWE Universe will likely take some time to get used to chanting along with him, but he’s bound to be a fan favorite soon. He also had a great match against Gable, albeit it featured a major botch. Eventually, he came out on top with a pinfall victory following a Penta driver.

Penta catches backstage heat in WWE following his debut on Raw

Although it has only been a few hours since Penta debuted in WWE, he seems to have already caught the wrong kind of attention backstage. It appears that he might still take some time to get used to the WWE system. This may especially be true considering that he was sent straight to the main roster and not NXT.

According to a report by PWInsider, Penta spent much more time in the ring across his match and post-match promo than was allotted to him. This meant that time had to be cut from other segments on the show. This allegedly did not sit well with many of the other talents on the show.

While a few WWE superstars may not have been happy with his debut, AEW superstars were thrilled for their former colleague. Wrestlers like Swerve Strickland and Thunder Rosa congratulated the Luchador on social media. Of course, Rey Fenix was also tremendously happy for his brother, who should be joining him in the promotion soon.
