The Undertaker is widely regarded as the most respected performer in WWE history. With a legendary career spanning over three decades, ‘The Deadman’ was not only the cornerstone of the company but also its locker-room leader. And while his in-ring days are behind him, it appears that the real-life Mark Callaway is stepping into a new role behind the scenes.
During WrestleMania 41 weekend in April, under the leadership of Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, WWE made headlines by completing its historic acquisition of Mexican promotion AAA. To guide the transition and shape the future of Lucha Libre under the WWE banner, HHH entrusted Shawn Michaels, who currently runs NXT, with building a leadership team. Among the most notable and celebrated additions was none other than The Undertaker.
The partnership quickly gained traction with the launch of the Worlds Collide event in June, earning widespread praise from fans and critics alike. Most recently, The Undertaker was seen alongside Triple H and Michaels at Triplemania XXXIII on August 16 in Mexico City. Adding to the excitement, the WWE CCO shared a behind-the-scenes video from the arena, capturing his preparations for the event, conversations with talent, and a special moment with the WWE Hall of Famer himself.
Here I am with the two guys I respected the most of my generation….As if this wasn’t big enough, having that opportunity, I can’t even describe it. If you would have told me 20 years ago that one of the big driving forces behind AAA in Mexico would be the Undertaker, it would be hard for me to sort of wrap my head around that.

Beyond his backstage interactions, ‘The Game’ also addressed the AAA locker room ahead of their biggest show of the year. He emphasized that WWE’s mission is not to change the DNA of the iconic Lucha Libre brand, but rather to strengthen and elevate what already makes it so successful.
It’s a surreal full-circle moment to see three former rivals. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker, now working together to shape the future of professional wrestling. Between them, they share five unforgettable WrestleMania matches, including their legendary partnership at WrestleMania 28, a bout still regarded as a milestone in wrestling history.
Now, with their in-ring careers behind them, the intrigue lies in what these icons can create as promoters and producers, guiding the next generation from behind the curtain.
The Undertaker’s original podcast host weighs in on departure after WWE takeover
Since retiring from WWE, The Undertaker has stepped into a new role as a podcaster. Fans have enjoyed seeing ‘The Deadman’ out of character, sharing candid stories from his legendary wrestling career. Recently, though, his Six Feet Under podcast went through an ownership change.

As part of WWE’s partnership with Fanatics, the original co-host, Matt Lyda, was replaced. WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool, The Undertaker’s wife, has now taken over as co-host. Lyda, however, believes that Taker may have kept the show going longer than he actually wanted, purely out of respect for their friendship. Speaking with Maven Huffman on his YouTube channel, Lyda reflected on their time together:
Six Feet Under, simply put, was taken over by WWE. But if they wanted me to do their version of the show, I’d be down with it. Who’d say no to that? Mark and I are still friends, nothing will change that, not even money….Mark kept the show going probably six to eight months longer than he wanted to, if I was a betting man, really, because of me. He said yes to a lot of things that he probably would have said no to with other people.

Outside of podcasting, The Undertaker is now involved in building AAA under WWE’s umbrella. Moreover, he also appears as a coach on WWE LFG on A&E, where, in season two, McCool joined him as a fellow coach.
