Without a doubt, Dave Bautista belongs on the list of the most successful WWE superstars turned actors. The former WWE Champion quit wrestling in 2010 to kickstart a career in the Hollywood industry. Although he is one of the biggest stars today, the transition from wrestling to acting wasn’t as smooth as one would expect. Recently, Bautista’s former teammate, Triple H, disclosed surprising details behind the move.

While speaking on The Roommates podcast, the WWE CCO said that Bautista initially went from audition to audition, looking for roles. At the time, The Animal was struggling financially due to bad investments he made. Bautista worked hard despite being broke and living on his friend’s couch. Hunter claimed that fortunes changed for the WWE legend when he landed a role as “Drax” in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Game heaped praise on Bautista, lauding his determination to search for roles other than settling for the ‘big action guy’ in movies. Triple H and Batista’s friendship goes back to 2003, when the duo, alongside Ric Flair and Randy Orton, formed Evolution. After dominating as a faction, they feuded over the World Heavyweight Championship throughout 2005.

Almost fourteen years later, Dave Bautista faced the Cerebral Assassin at WrestleMania 35, which served as the former’s retirement match. HHH subsequently hung up his boots in 2022 after suffering heart failure. Nonetheless, fans are eagerly awaiting Bautista to appear on WWE programming and for him to take his rightful place in the Hall of Fame.

Why Dave Bautista hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?

Despite retiring almost six years ago, Dave Bautista has not been inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame. The Animal was set to be a part of the 2020 class. However, the COVID pandemic led to the company postponing that year’s ceremony.

Since then, scheduling conflicts between WWE and Bautista have prevented the inevitable induction. Last year, fans expected Big Dave to be a major part of the WrestleMania weekend, considering the Hollywood theme and location.

Instead, the company opted for Rey Mysterio to headline the ceremony. Bautista later revealed that he wanted to be a part of that year’s class, but he was in South Africa at the time. Speaking about a potential return to wrestling, Bautista admitted that although he misses the squared circle, he has come to terms with his retirement.
