Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the incumbent Chief Content Officer of WWE, has turned into quite a polarizing figure among wrestling fans with the kind of year he has had as the lead booker. He’s allegedly done a subpar job when it comes to not giving the fans what they clamored for in 2025. On top of that, ‘The Game’ has just opened Pandora’s box.
Levesque recently graced The All-In podcast, where he played with fire by putting over Donald Trump. The 14-time world champion hailed the US president as a charismatic entity and cited it as a major reason behind his return to the White House.
While ‘Hunter’ admitted that the voters do look out for a candidate who’ll address their day-to-day concerns, they eventually land upon someone whom they like and connect with the most.
Donald Trump was very good in our world of WWE because he was okay to be himself. He was okay to sort of get egg on his face and be embarrassed. Sometimes he was okay to put it all out there and just be him, but he’s charismatic. He’s larger than life.

Triple H praises Donald Trump for his charisma, says Trump was ‘very good’ in the world of WWE:

“I think if you go back through history — even in politics — and you look at the person that gets elected in every presidential cycle, it's the most charismatic person on that stage… pic.twitter.com/mgmsSkcYG9
The former DX member said that people prefer charismatic figures, which Trump certainly is, as per Levesque. Coming on to the POTUS’ previous stints in WWE, ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ said that Trump was very good in their world of professional wrestling. ‘Hunter’ praised the Queensland-born politician for never refraining from being himself.
The WWE Hall of Famer added that Trump was fine with getting egged on for sports entertainment. Levesque even called him larger than life and emphasized that the Republican leader never minces his words. Trump is remembered by WWE fans for his participation in the Battle of the Billionaires storyline involving Vince McMahon in 2007.
The 79-year-old prez might re-emerge on WWE television as early as next month. For the unversed, there’s growing speculation within wrestling circles that Trump is likely to attend John Cena‘s last WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C.
Triple H addresses WWE & UFC comparisons and explains why WWE is akin to the MCU
In the aforementioned interview, Triple H also explained what separates pro wrestling from combat sports like the UFC. ‘The King of Kings’ mentioned how the world of MMA is competitive. The real-life Paul Levesque then took the example of Conor McGregor. ‘The Notorious One’ hasn’t returned to the Octagon since the summer of 2021 after suffering a broken leg.

He hasn’t officially retired either, but has often expressed that he’s content with what he’s accomplished in the sport. Levesque wondered what would happen if McGregor all of a sudden announced that he’s going to fight in about 4 months. The arena he’ll step into will sell out in advance, and the viewership for that event will also be off the charts, said the retired wrestler.
That’s exactly what the people will be gravitating towards. But in pro wrestling, it’s all about telling stories. ‘The Game’ affirmed that those in WWE don’t write shows focusing on how great the match would look on TV. Instead, the core foundation of any rivalry is hinged on the protagonist, known as a babyface, and the antagonist, or a heel, as called in wrestling jargon.
WWE's Triple H on comparisons with UFC, believing they are more like the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

"MMA is competitive, it's competition, that's what it's based on. Though best when, I don't wanna get too deep in their world, you have a Conor McGregor come along.

The more compelling the story, the more intense the feuds would be. Levesque also talked about the WWE: Unreal documentary on Netflix, which gives an unprecedented peek into the writer’s room and backstage production meetings as well. ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ said that it takes them months of planning for whatever they come up with on a weekly basis.
As WrestleMania 42 is fast approaching, the WWE CCO said that the discussions are already underway as to how the card is going to end up looking in April. In that sense, Levesque compared WWE to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as both involve long-term planning. ‘Hunter’ concluded by noting that in the UFC, it’s all about who’s the best inside that octagon, and no one gets to know it until the fighters finish duking it out.
