Triple H tried to get AEW’s FTR back to NXT
Former WWE wrestlers, The Revival shifted bases from WWE’s NXT to AEW. Their in-ring name was changed to FTR. At AEW they were the AEW World Tag Team Champions. But they lost their titles to The Young Bucks at AEW’s PPV Full Gear.in a recent interview with talkSport, they revealed that WWE’s Triple H tried to convince them to return to NXT.
They mentioned that Triple H tried his best to convince them to return. But at the same time they commended The Game for his help and respectfulness throughout their negotiations. They really respected the former World Champion, but they had their own reasons for deciding against returning. They feel that they have accomplished everything that they wanted to at WWE. Hence, returning would not add any value to them.
Dax Harwood mentions, “There were talks with us and Triple H to go back to NXT and they tried very hard to keep us. It was all professional and all respectful and we were very gracious to the offers we got and to what Triple H was going to provide for us, but ultimately, we knew that our time in WWE was over at that time.”
Triple H wanted FTR to reclaim their glory
Cash Wheeler, the other half of the duo, agrees with Dax and even thanks Triple H for the amazing opportunity. But once The Revival was off WWE’s main roster, they knew that there is no future for them at WWE. They were given generous offers from NXT, but the duo did not go through with it.
The duo had additional reasons for leaving WWE and making the shift to AEW. The duo considers AEW to be the best promotion for tag team wrestlers in the pro-wrestling industry. They recently had one of the best Tag Team matches at AEW Full Gear against The Young Bucks. They did end up losing their titles, but everyone came out looking strong in the match.
While Triple H has made it quite clear that he wants the duo on his roster. But it remains to be seen whether they return to WWE in the future.
