Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter won the award for Best Country Album at the Grammys this past Sunday. As soon as Taylor Swift announced it was Bey, the latter couldn’t believe it and acted dumbstruck. The reaction has since gone viral on the internet. So to speak, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has also jumped on the bandwagon.
The 49-year-old made her return to WWE as a surprise entrant in the women’s Royal Rumble match. Taking to X, Trish video-edited a shocked Beyoncé from the Grammys, as if the singer was reacting to Stratus’ entrance at the Rumble. Recapping her performance, the former Women’s Champion drew No. 25, which was a reasonably good spot for her.
However, after grinding in the ring for about 13 minutes, The Quintessential WWE Diva got eliminated by Nia Jax. That marked Trish’s first in-ring outing since losing a steel cage match to Becky Lynch at Payback in September 2023. Is that it for Stratus? At least, the hope is she would do something more with WWE, per Fightful Select.
The outlet reported that her name is often pitched in creative meetings. But there’s no clarity on that front. Next month, WWE will stage the Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto, which happens to be the hometown of Stratus. The fans may expect her to be there in some capacity.
Who knows if she qualifies for the women’s Elimination Chamber match? Thus far, only Liv Morgan is through. In a post-Royal Rumble interview with Byron Saxton, the Canuck expressed her gratitude. She felt honored to be a part of the women’s Rumble that featured an amalgam of veterans, NXT’s young guns, and former Impact Knockouts World Champion, Jordynne Grace.
Who else shocked the fans at this year’s Royal Rumble?
Another old-timer who made a comeback at the Royal Rumble is none other than Nikki Bella. She came out at #30. The Fearless One received a huge ovation and had fun before being thrown out by Nia Jax.
There’s no word on if Bella is slated for an extended run with WWE. However, after what she told Jackie Redmond post-show, it seems she’s in for a ride. The San Diego native listed a plethora of women she’s eyeing, including the likes of Chelsea Green and Bayley.
The Barmageddon host had one of the most emotionally low phases of her life in late 2024. In that timeframe, the 41-year-old divorced Artem Chigvintsev after the dancer’s repeated instances of physical abuse.
