This Christmas, former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista took a stroll down memory lane. Taking to X, the 55-year-old Hollywood actor posted a picture from his childhood where he could be seen nestled in the lap of Santa Claus. In retrospect, this year didn’t turn out the way Dave would have hoped for. One of his biggest setbacks was the recently concluded presidential election.
The Animal’s political endorsement of Democrat nominee Kamala Harris resulted in a bust. The incumbent Vice President was entrusted with the onus of running for the President’s office by Joe Biden after he dropped out of the race. However, the poll results saw Donald Trump-led Republicans trounce their counterparts. Mr. Trump is all set to be sworn in as the 47th POTUS on January 20.
Prior to the election day in the US, it was absolute pandemonium as votaries of both parties went that extra mile to denigrate one another. Bautista, a staunch Democrat, followed suit. He even tore into Trump on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he did a parody of the president-elect.
In the meantime, Dave’s WWE contemporaries, The Undertaker and Kane, who had proved their allegiance for Trump, kept belittling the Riddick actor. In a follow-up, Taker stated during an interview that he doesn’t hate Bautista despite their political discrepancies. It’s not just the election results that let Dave down. Last month, he mourned the loss of one of the four Pitbulls he rescued.
For someone as big of an animal lover as Dave, it must’ve been gut-wrenching for him to let his ‘sweet boy’ Ollie rest in peace. To make matters worse, Bautista’s recent action comedy film, The Killer’s Game bombed at the box office. Against a budget of $30 million, it could barely clock $6 million in revenue.

As one would expect, Dave Bautista‘s post on X wishing Merry Christmas was intended to foster good omen. However, escaping trolls on social media is next to impossible. Some of them snuck in the comments beneath the retired wrestler’s photo drop.
Although most people were nice and wished the actor back, a handful of hatemongers slammed Dave for backing Kamala Harris in the elections. The former WWE Champion got reminded by someone of Donald Trump‘s takeover leveraging an AI image.
One even aimed a dig at the pearl necklaces that Dave puts on these days. They asked Bautista whether Santa brought him one this year too. Speaking of which, Joe Rogan noted during his podcast that Dave’s endorsement of Harris and usage of necklaces are baits to impress the Hollywood liberals.
