This season has been a major disappointment for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins. At a time when the franchise was supposed to take the next step, it seemed to have regressed.

The overall performance at the start of the season was poor, with some questioning if head coach Mike McDaniel could eke some effort out of his players.

They did respond, and the team started to play better, and were battling against teams for most of the games. However, they could not close them out, and most of the blame was squarely on Tagovailoa’s shoulders.

His late-game interceptions or struggles to get the ball to open receivers were becoming a staple every game. He has been dismissive about his mistakes, labeling them as criticisms from folks who did not know the struggles of a football player.

Then he took it up a notch by throwing his teammates under the bus after their Week 6 loss. He eventually apologized, claiming he said it in the heat of the moment. This week, Tua Tagovailoa had another bizarre claim at the Dolphins’ media facilities.

Some of it has to do with being able to see guys with their guys also up front and our guys. I’m not the tallest guy in the back there either. Being able to see and sometimes when that happens, you don’t want to just throw it blindly.

Tua Tagovailoa said

This was his reply when asked why the QB could not throw a single pass to Jaylen Waddle in their Week 7 blowout loss to the Cleveland Browns. He seems to think his short height was to blame.

Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions against Browns

The staggering part of that revelation is that Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions against the Cleveland Browns. The last of them was so egregious that head coach Mike McDaniel had had enough and benched him.

As of today, the Hawaiian native has the joint most interceptions in the league at 10. No wonder his head coach threw a direct barb at his QB, asking him not to throw the ball to the other team 10 times.

If not for those interceptions, the Dolphins could have won a few more games. Now, to bizarrely blame his height for not targeting his best receiver was another example of his recent deflective nature.

Cam Newton had warned about how all this talk from Tagovailoa was noise that was not helping him stay focused. The Alabama star needs to improve if the team is to go anywhere.

Trade rumors were circling Jaylen Waddle

That lack of targets might become a problem for Jaylen Waddle. After Tyreek Hill went down with a season-ending injury, the 26-year-old has the chance to prove his worth.

If he is not getting the opportunities to do so, he might look elsewhere. It so happens that trade rumors have been swirling around the Texas native for a while.

To add fuel to the fire, he removed all Miami Dolphins links from his Instagram bio and posted a series of pictures of himself preparing to play football. There were some pictures of him in Dolphins gear, but the lack of an official mention had fans believing he was angling for an exit.
