Tua Tagovailoa gets trolled for being extremely out-of-shape in the offseason – “Acting like Mahomes”
Tua Tagovailoa, 27, signed a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with the Miami Dolphins through 2028 last July.

The Miami Dolphins are looking to bounce back from the disappointing 9-8 season last year with Tua Tagovailoa back from a concussion. However, his recent images paint quite a depressing picture for hopeful fans.
In a recent video shared on social media, Tua Tagovailoa was seen out of shape drinking beer on a yacht amid a family vacation. The player is seen sporting a beer belly as he enjoys the off-season with some fun time off from the field and practice.
The Miami Dolphins have brought in Zach Wilson for the next season, adding a backup to Tagovailoa. Although the latter trumps Wilson in all aspects, he needs to ensure he’s on stellar form to avoid being benched for a better alternative.
Furthermore, Tagovailoa also needs to maintain a certain level of fitness to avoid being injured once again. He has already taken a plentiful amount of concussions in his playing career and further chances cannot be taken.
The video has incited a discussion on where the limits lie for a sports player. There has been a serious call for highly-paid players to maintain their athleticism and shape throughout their careers. However, there exists a similar dilemma on keeping fun and work-life balance in their lives as well. Another player who has come under the radar before Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fans have mixed feelings about Tua Tagovailoa’s fitness during the offseason
Tua Tagovailoa, one of the most-paid quarterbacks in the league with a $53.1 million AAV, has a lot of money riding on him. Despite missing six games due to another concussion, Tagovailoa recorded 2,867 passing yards and 19 touchdowns during the season.

The player has been criticized by a sizable few who claimed that the player is out of shape. The comments range from hate comments to questioning his routine and discipline as a player in the Miami Dolphins and NFL.
I love Tua but some things are not a good look. Skinny arms and a belly for an NFL QB. When does off season weight training start? There is a reason Brady was so good for so long, complete dedication and disipline. Tua is 27 and he’s got a 40 yr old dad body.

Fans sure aren’t getting what they are paying for. Mediocre qb with a poor work ethic. He’s a walking injury report. You would think he would keep himself in top physical shape to help prevent future injuries

However, there’s a share of people who do not align with the negative opinions. A user referenced that Patrick Mahomes, who has three rings, sports a similar dad bod. The user suggested that the dad bod doesn’t play as big a role as popular opinion goes.

Many users admitted that there’s nothing wrong with letting loose in the offseason and having some fun.
We’re 100+ years into sports and we still haven’t figured out guys relax in the offseason

Bro is 3 concussions in from this past season alone. Let the man enjoy his free time.

The AFC East is a hotspot with crucial headlines coming out of the division in the last two days. Buffalo Bills reportedly extended Josh Allen to a six-year contract, the New York Jets signed Justin Fields, and the New England Patriots had a tremendous spending day on the first day of free agency. The Dolphins’ front office really needs to step it up as the division has gotten a bit tougher.
