Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill’s Miami Dolphins are catching strays even in the off-season. WTA World No. 4 tennis player Jessica Pegula passed a cheeky comment after her match against Alexandra Eala at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Pegula capped off a hard-fought 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-3 win against teenage wild card Eala on Thursday night at the Miami Open, a WTA 1000 event. The 31-year-old’s victory was impressive, but her comments during the post-game interview made headlines.
Thank you guys so much for coming out. I love playing here. I love playing at home. I love getting wins in the Dolphins’ stadium, just saying. Sorry, guys… I always play really well here. I really do, and you guys always come out and support me so much.

Why did Jessica Pegula roast the Miami Dolphins?
The answer is in her last name. Jessica may be a star tennis player, but she’s also the daughter of Buffalo Bills’ owners Terry and Kim Pegula.

The Dolphins and the Bills are natural enemies, as they fight each other twice every year for AFC East supremacy. Lately, the Bills have had the better of the Miami franchise. Quarterback Josh Allen and co. have bested Tagovailoa and Hill’s Dolphins six times in a row.
The last time the Dolphins tasted victory in this fixture was back in September 2022 by just 2 points. Despite Allen throwing 400 yards from 42 completions and 2 touchdowns, former Dolphins running back Chase Edmonds’ multiple rushing touchdown outing secured the win.
As for Jessica Pegula, by defeating Eala, she qualified for her fourth final of the season. Pegula will now face World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka on March 29 (Saturday)—a rematch of the 2024 US Open final.
Pegula and Sabalenka have faced each other twice in the past, with Sabalenka winning on six occasions.
Tyreek Hill’s time at the Dolphins may be numbered
The off-season free agency produced some eye-popping roster moves. The Raiders trading for Geno Smith, Sam Darnold signing for the Seahawks, DeAndre Hopkins joining the Ravens, and Davante Adams moving to the Rams made discussion on the dinner table interesting.
The window is still open, and fans are still waiting to see a few big-name players find new homes. One unexpected name who might be on the move is star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and his destination—the Dallas Cowboys.
Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team suggested that the Dolphins can kill two birds with one stone by trading Hill. First, the Super Bowl winner’s inflated wages will be off the books, and second, they can make Jaylen Waddle their No. 1 with a manageable salary and then draft a rookie to compliment him.
[Tyreek Hill is one of the] most feared playmakers in the game. A few more strong seasons would almost surely make him a Hall of Famer, and Dallas can be the right place to make that happen. The Cowboys desperately need a partner for CeeDee Lamb and another star to take pressure off Dak Prescott.
Ian Valentino wrote
According to Valentino, the Cowboys have to give up their 44th pick in the 2025 draft and a 3rd-round pick in 2026 to trade for Hill, who wanted out of the Dolphins last year. The team from Miami struggled without Tagovailoa and recorded just 8 wins compared to the Bills 13.

This is the first time I haven’t been in the playoffs. For me, I have to do what’s best for me and my family.
Tyreek Hill said after the Dolphins’ final-day loss to the Jets in New York
Hill eventually decided to stick around, but anything can happen in football. The Cowboys are in for an additional receiver, and adding a former Super Bowl winner isn’t a bad deal.
