After enduring three recorded concussions in less than five years, one becomes more careful with his plays, but not Tua Tagovailoa. The Miami Dolphins’ star quarterback is not ready to lessen risks in his plays regardless of what he says to his fans.
Despite repeatedly asked to avoid taking injury risks, Tagovailoa continues to opt for diving in head first while making contact. The recent matchup against the Houston Texans– which anyway ended in a loss, was another illustration of the quarterback’s ability to put himself at injury risk.
During the second quarter on Sunday, while the Dolphins were driving in the opposing territory, quarterback Tagovailoa escaped the pocket to his left, sprinted forward, and dove head-first for the first down, which resulted in him colliding with two Houston Texans defenders.

Although he escaped getting injured, fans were heavily disappointed in him for putting himself at such risk of another traumatic brain injury that could potentially put a full stop to not just his career but also a healthy life after football. However, the signal-caller isn’t ready to restrict himself from making plays that can bring results.
Despite the best efforts, the quarterback couldn’t lead his team to victory as they sunk to a 6-8 season standing and are on the verge of getting eliminated from the playoffs. He finished the game with 29-of-40 for 196 yards, three interceptions, and a touchdown pass.
Tua Tagovailoa prioritizes football despite injury concerns
Previously, while addressing the subject of his injury and recovery, the Dolphins quarterback expressed his gratitude towards his well-wishers for their concerns, but also stated he puts football above everything else in his life. And he continues to prove it with his risky play in every other game.
Given the widespread reaction to his third concussion attracted across the league, it’s understandable that the quarterback has become somewhat overwhelmed. It’s not like he doesn’t understand the danger associated with the league, but at the same time, he does not want to restrict putting in the best efforts for his team on the field.
