Mexican boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez has recently signed a significant contract with Turki Alalshikh under Riyadh Season. This announcement has generated considerable excitement in the boxing community. While many people welcomed the partnership, some expressed their discontent. Notably, one individual who voiced his displeasure was Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer.

Turki Alalshikh is a prominent figure and matchmaker in the boxing community. Since becoming involved, the Saudi delegate has arranged some of the most exciting matchups in boxing history. Alalshikh has plans for the Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez and does not consider Jake Paul to be a good matchup for him. In an interview with ESPN, he revealed what he believes to be the best matchup for Paul.

Let them (Jake Paul’s team) bring Mr. Beast, and we can sanction it with Disney for the belt of YouTube and everyone will subscribe and see it… Everyone will see it and the YouTuber belt.

Alalshikh appeared to poke fun at Paul by suggesting that popular YouTuber MrBeast would be a fitting opponent for the ‘Problem Child.’ Interestingly, MrBeast is one of the highest-earning YouTubers, boasting an impressive 358 million subscribers. Alalshikh’s desire to see a matchup between Paul and MrBeast stems from various reasons, one of which is the Problem Child’s boxing resume.

Since his professional boxing debut in 2020, Paul has primarily fought against retired boxers, MMA veterans, and fellow influencers. Currently, he has an impressive record of 11 wins and 1 defeat in pro boxing. However, Paul faces intense scrutiny from the boxing community for choosing easy and favorable matchups. As a result, many, including Canelo and Alalshikh, do not consider him a “real fighter.”

Canelo Alvarez sends a scathing reply to Jake Paul’s comments on him

Following Canelo Alvarez’s signing of a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, Jake Paul appeared to direct criticism at him. One reason for this was their supposed agreement to fight each other in May 2025. However, with Turki Alalshikh’s intervention and Canelo leaning towards the Saudi delegate, Paul’s potential fight against the Mexican boxer was ultimately canceled.

Paul recently went on a rant, accusing Canelo of being disloyal and money-hungry. He even labeled the Mexican boxing superstar a “slave”. This criticism prompted a reaction from Alvarez. In an exclusive video shared by Alalshikh’s Ring Magazine, Canelo responded, criticizing Paul for making unnecessary noise in the boxing community.

Hey guys, don’t pay attention to anything of this f**king YouTuber. I just fight real fighters. No f**king around with Canelo. Come on, let’s go.

Currently, Canelo has just one fight scheduled under his Riyadh Season contract. It will be against undefeated American boxer Terence Crawford in September 2025. However, before that, Alvarez is still set to participate in a fight in May. Although Paul was initially considered a likely opponent for the Mexican boxer during that event, it will be interesting to see who he ultimately faces.
