13-time PGA Tour winner and former world number one, Jordan Spieth is returning to the John Deere Classic this week for the first time since 2015. The 30-year-old Texan is hoping to recapture the youthful magic that propelled him to his first career victory at the event in 2013, when he became the PGA Tour’s first teenage winner in 82 years.

Spieth, who also won the John Deere Classic in 2015, has fond memories of his time in Silvis, Illinois, describing it as a “second home”. He receives tremendous support from the fans there.

Jordan Spieth now remains determined to maintain his rookie mindset. Despite the challenges of a decade-long career at the highest level, he played with the same carefree attitude that defined his early success. During an interview with John Deere Classic, he opened up on shared his memories of being a rookie and debuting at the event.

Off the course it's obviously very different. But, I think I try to be that kid. I try to think about being that kid every time I tee it up. Rookie year out here was such a blur. I started out with no status and ended up after this week having full status. So it was kind of a dream come true ride and I just kind of went where I needed to go and didn't ask questions and just played golf.

Spieth’s return to the John Deere Classic comes at a crucial juncture in his 2024 season, as he looks to turn around a challenging campaign marked by a lack of top-25 finishes since before the Masters in April. The three-time major champion remains optimistic about his performance and aims to build momentum heading into The Open Championship in a couple of weeks.

Jordan Spieth, the three-time major champion and two-time winner of the John Deere Classic, will tee off at 8:29 AM ET in the first round on Thursday, July 4. He is paired with J.T. Poston and Zach Johnson, another past champion of the event.

Spieth made his professional debut at the John Deere Classic in 2012. He also has fond memories of his victories in 2013 and 2015, including a memorable playoff win.

Spieth has decided to make a comeback in 2024, after nine years. Remains to be seen if he will find his charm at the event after all these years.
