Former NBA player Rajon Rondo caught the attention of the NBA world after a recent footage him being arrested was released by TMZ Sports.

Retired star Rajon Rondo has garnered widespread attention from the NBA community lately for all sorts of unwanted reasons. Notably, Rondo was arrested in January near Jackson County for reportedly speeding and having a firearm in his car. Interestingly, TMZ Sports recently released bodycam footage of Rondo’s arrest.

In the video making rounds on the internet, one can hear the police recognizing the former basketball player. One of the officers remarks, “He’s a former basketball player. “ The officer also adds, “He played for a bunch of NBA teams. Not that I care; I’m just telling you.” The cops further asked Rondo whether he played in the NBA, to which Rondo obliged by saying ‘Yes.’

However, his fame did not help him this time around, as the cops nevertheless arrested him. It’s important to note that, along with a firearm, the cops also discovered a small amount of weed and drug paraphernalia in his ride. Regarding his NBA career, Rondo was well-known from the late 2000s to the 2010s.

On their way to winning a championship in 2008, he joined the renowned Boston Celtics trio. Rondo remained one of the top facilitators in the game during his tenure in the NBA. As a member of the COVID Bubble Los Angeles Lakers team in 2020, he won his second NBA championship. Furthermore, he had four selections to the All-Star team.

Rajon Rondo made himself clear regarding NBA retirement plans

Former NBA player Rajon Rondo enjoyed a great time during his playing days in the league, winning multiple titles with various teams. However, he called it quits after spending 16 long years in the NBA on the All The Smoke Podcast. Rondo appeared on the podcast, where he made himself clear regarding his retirement plans.

Yeah, I’m done. I can’t. I’d rather spend time with my kids. What a time, it was definitely something that I never took for granted when I was in the game. I loved every minute of it.

In 2009–10, Rajon Rondo dominated the NBA in steals per game. In 2011–12, 2012–13, and 2015–16, he topped the league in assists per game. He won NBA titles with the Boston Celtics in 2007–08 and the Lakers in 2019–20.

The two-time champion was named to the league’s All-Defensive Team four times. In 957 games, he averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in his career. It remains to be seen what Rondo will do with the next part of his life after the NBA.
